The Process Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing all defined
activities, personnel and other resources involved in the analysis, planning,
implementation, documentation and support of LEAN and process improvement
projects. This position works closely with all departments within the facility
to implement continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support multi-disciplinary project teams through the use of Project
Management techniques/processes and activities that require evaluation,
planning, communication, implementation, and follow-up. In addition, requires
the ability to lead decision making processes, lead root cause analysis, utilize
available improvement tools (such as lean manufacturing), provide analytical &
financial analysis / studies as required, and drive non-capital improvements at
our facilities
- Support continuous improvement by leading or supporting major cost reduction
and quality improvement teams
- Provide support as needed for capital planning & project justification
- Supports EHS&S initiatives to ensure no injury to self or others
- Ensures performance development process (PDP) is administered as required and
team member's development needs are identified and improved
- Ensures the interface with support personnel or groups is conducted in a
participative management style that is conducive with operational goals
- Conducts oneself in a professional manner, ensuring confidentiality regarding
sensitive issues and ensuring personal appearance meets the standards necessary
to perform the job function while representing the Company
- Ensures that additional accountabilities as may be required by management be
handled in a manner necessary to meet operational goals
| Qualifications/Requirements | Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of related experience and/or training
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certification must be attained within first year in this
position
- Project management experience
- Formal training in Lean Manufacturing and Project Management or at least 2
years’ experience using Lean Manufacturing processes and project management
methodologies preferably in a manufacturing environment, with the ability to
train employees and lead effective cost savings and quality improvement team
events
- Experience and understanding of basic accounting/budgeting practices
- Understanding of quality assurance specifications, practices and procedures
- Demonstrated cross-functional communication skills, both verbal and written,
and experience creating and delivering effective presentations
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- An understanding of policies and federal regulations concerning sanitation,
safety, security, and labor agreements
- Highly-developed observation and troubleshooting skills related to all process
and supporting equipment and systems
- A willingness and ability to travel as necessary
- Food manufacturing experience is desirable
