located in Eydelstedt (50 km south of Bremen). HZPC Deutschland initiates and
coordinates all activities related to the marketing and sales of mainly seed
potatoes, as well as the production of HZPC-varieties in Germany. The team
consists out of competent and motivated sales and marketing experts, combined
with a dynamic support team. Since the establishment of HZPC Germany, we managed
to achieve a solid and growing market position. In cooperation with an
increasing number of growers and packers in various regions of Germany, we aim
to further build our common knowledge concerning usage and suitability of
HZPC-varieties as well as cropping systems. This to prosper the businesses of
our clients, contracted growers and of HZPC.
HZPC segments its market into Retail Fresh, Traditional, French Fries, Crisps
and Peeled. Within HZPC, every (market) sector is served by a sector group. A
sector group consists out of colleagues with various backgrounds. The Product
manager is also part of a sector group. Furthermore, a sector group is composed
of positions in the field of sales & marketing, research, logistics and
production. A sector group works on achieving appropriate solutions for
customers involved in a particular market segment. HZPC is building a link
between producers and buyers concerning the development, multiplication and
sales of seed (approx. 600.000 tons) and ware potatoes (220.000 tons). With the
help of our own (sector) breeders and 30 affiliated breeders, HZPC presents an
extensive and well situated variety assortment. With 250 employees, HZPC
achieves an annual turnover of around € 250 Mio.
| Job description | The position of Product manager focuses on:
- Market research and making analyses to know and understand
the specific needs of customers, retailers and packing stations
in the segment Retail Fresh.
- Development of local variety profiles adapted to the
customer needs, as well as the communication to packers and
farmers.
- Evaluation and give support regarding local potato trial
fields and transformation in specific variety and cultivation
recommendations.
- Consulting farmers and packers concerning variety and
cultivation issues.
- Competent representation of HZPC Germany on different expert
conferences and exhibitions.
- The position of Product manager for HZPC Germany is a full
time position.
| Qualifications/Requirements | For this interesting and varied position, we are searching for a candidate
who recognizes him / her selves in the following profile:
Critical knowledge.
- Your preferably have an education in the field of plant
science (or related fields).
- You have knowledge of crop cultivation preferable the potato
crop.
- Besides the language you speak in daily live, you have a
good knowledge of the English language. In case you have another
nationality then German, we will support you to learn the German
language.
Critical skills
- You have the correct balance between practical attitudes,
supported by a strong analytical drive (statistical analyses are
an important part of this).
- Creativity, spirit of enterprise and working in a well
structured way are important skills in this job.
- You have good advisory skills.
- You have the willingness to travel around and keep contacts
to customers.
- You are intended to live in Germany for a longer period of
time and also to learn the German language.
