Troubled Diamond Foods Inc., which operates a plant in Beloit that produces Kettle brand potato chips, is talking with private equity firms about taking a minority stake in the San Francisco company, Barrons recently reported.
Some investors anticipate the company will be eventually acquired by a so-called strategic buyer that wants to pick up Diamond’s Emerald snack nuts, Kettle chips and Pop Secret popcorn.
