Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM) on Monday reported a 7% climb in fiscal second-quarter net income despite shrinking margins, as the company's ability to capitalize on volatile commodity market conditions offset continued ethanol-related pains.
Among ADM's other businesses, oilseed processing profits grew 14% to $219 million due to strong global demand for protein meal and oil.
