heat and Control UPC fryer

From hard-bite kettle style to traditional chips, Heat and Control’s new Universal Potato Chip system lets you create personalized snacks for each customer using one economical continuous fryer. It can also be used for plantain, malanga, multi-grain and other chips and snack products.

Now available after five years of development, UPC utilizes independent fryer modules integrated into one compact, continuous frying system. Adjust the frying time, temperature and oil flow in each module to produce chips with specific texture, moisture and color qualities. An easy-to-use PLC stores multiple recipes so you can change products in minutes.

Economical and efficient, UPC costs less to operate than separate batch or continuous fryers producing the same capacity.UPC uses about half the energy of comparable batch fryers. And it can produce traditional style potato chips with little or no water.

With patents granted and applied for, UPC is the world’s most versatile fryer system for potato, plantain and similar types of chips.

Heat and Control organizes demonstrations of this fryer for qualified prospects.

Pack Expo

Booth sales for The PROCESSING ZONE, a new exhibit area at PACK EXPO International 2010 (Oct. 31–Nov. 3, 2010; McCormick Place, Chicago), have exceeded expectations and the area has been expanded to 70,000 square feet, according to show organizer PMMI.

“PMMI originally estimated The PROCESSING ZONE could reach as much as 50,000 square feet,” says Charles D. Yuska, president and CEO, PMMI. “We’ve exceeded our estimates, and we’re expanding to accommodate the demand.”

The new pavilion will highlight the latest processing technologies for a range of market sectors including food, beverage, baked goods, snack food, meat, dairy, produce, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.

“The commitments from processing suppliers demonstrate the industry’s support for PACK EXPO’s expanded focus on the packaging and processing supply chain. With processing solutions integrated directly into PACK EXPO, consumer packaged goods companies (CPGs) will be able to address the production line as a complete process and find innovative technologies to help improve overall operational efficiency,” adds Yuska.
