| October 14, 2009 |  | For years, the Process Expo and the Pack Expo, US largest shows for processing and packaging equipment - organised by the Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA) and Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI) - are co-located with the venue alternating between Chicago's McCormick Place and Las Vegas Convention Center.
However, last week's Las Vegas event was the last time Process Expo and the Pack Expo were combined, breaking with a long tradition. |

March 10, 2010 |  Last week the European Commission approved cultivation and processing of the genetically modified starch potato Amflora. The request for authorisation was submitted by Amflora's developer BASF in August 1996, more than 13 years ago!
In North America, currently no genetically modified potatoes are commercially grown. But the GM potato has already a colorful history in the US and Canada |
