The International Potato Processing & Storage Convention
June 23 – 25, 2009
Delta Prince
Edward
Hotel, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island,
Canada
The magazines Potato Processing International and Potato
Storage International and the web portal
www.potatobusiness.com
are delighted to announce their next convention, again in a combined format,
will take place on June 23 – 25, 2009
at
Delta Prince
Edward
Hotel, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island,
Canada.
In
a world of increasing globalisation, our unique convention is structured to
bring together two key elements of the potato industry. By offering a
programme of interest to both sectors
plus separate, highly specialized programmes for each sector,
the Convention offers real opportunities for attendees.
The emphasis is on International and business
development, examples and business development, boosted by providing
attendees with thought provoking, business-building programmes of
presentations and a unique, conducive atmosphere to mix with industry
colleagues from around the world.
The focal point of the high quality programme of presentations firmly
illustrates this as a business development event and the added, very
valuable, extensive networking opportunities with fellow industry
professionals enhance the event's profile even further.
Across the world, the potato processing industry is once again powering
forward. Levels of investment in new facilities and new technologies are
very high indeed and seem to be increasing even more. Industry analysts
expect the boom of recent years will continue for some time to come as the
industry boosts quality and volume of production and new product
development.
The program of presentations will focus on core aspects affecting the
industry of today, plus examine in greater detail the possibilities of
implementation and usage of modern technologies and applications for
enhancing existing production and the development of processing
opportunities.
The 'Processing Specific' Speaker program includes people such as
Keith Masser (Keystone Potato Products), Tim Reardon (Key Technology) and
Jim Smith (PEI Food Technology Centre).
The worldwide potato storage industry continues to play an ever-increasing
role in supplying processors, retail and foodservice markets and is a hugely
important sector of the potato supply chain.
Maximising both storage life and product quality are more valid than ever
and are the key factors to adding (or maintaining) value. The search for
opportunities and answers for those keen to develop their business is now a
worldwide search, with ideas, products, services and concepts being traded
between countries to enhance value - value that is demanded by volume users,
such as retailers and processors.
The 'Storage Specific' Speaker
program
includes people such as Dr. Steven B. Johnson (University of Maine), Dr.
Nora Olsen (University of Idaho) and Dr. Robert Coffin (Cavendish Farms).
The third program is a 'Combined - for all' programme of topics of
interest for the entire industry and includes speakers such as Paul van
Eijck (Food Innovation Online), Dr. Kathy Swords (Simplot) and Prof. Richard
Falloon ( Lincoln University ,New Zealand).
The event also
includes technical workshops and an exhibition and it is a real opportunity
for all attendees to network and build relationships with new,
international, like-minded industry colleagues.
