ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston, the largest potato company in North America, and
Unisur Alimentos Ltda, the only frozen French fry and dehydrated potato
processing company in Chile, announced today the formation of a new
strategic partnership focused on Chile and other South American markets.
As part of the strategic partnership, an expansion of the facilities located
in the Region of the Lakes, Llanquihue, Chile is planned. In addition,
Unisur will leverage the diverse experience and expertise of Lamb Weston’s
USA and Europe businesses. Terms of the partnership were not disclosed.
“This partnership with Lamb Weston is significant for Unisur in that it
allows us to build on our unique base in Southern Chile,” said James
Hungelmann, executive director of Unisur. “In addition, Lamb Weston is
well-known and well-respected for their experience and capabilities
internationally, and we believe partnering with Lamb Weston will accelerate
our growth plans for market leadership.”
