15th September 2009,
Walkers, the UK’s No. 1 Crisps and Snacks manufacturer, is continuing to
drive growth in the Crisps and Snacks category by bringing further news and
excitement to support its Walkers Max brand which is growing at +60%[1]
in impulse.
This September sees the introduction of a new and
improved Walkers Max range which boasts:
- New packaging for excellent standout on shelf
- Removal of MSG - same great taste!
- Free from artificial colours and preservatives
- Delicious new Max Cheese-Burger flavour
The
Walkers Max range now offers the following four great flavours: Chargrilled
Steak, Paprika, Cheese & Onion all available in 50g packs and New
Cheese-Burger available in 47g packs.
Walkers
continues to drive growth in the total category and within the single serve
segment which is becoming an increasingly important opportunity. This year,
the sales value of this sector has increased from 11.7% to 41.9%[2]
and Walkers Max is massively outperforming the sector making it the perfect
product for retailers to capitalise on this increased sales opportunity.
Kirk Tanner, Walkers VP Impulse sales says, “Our
advice to retailers is to always make space for best sellers as these will
boost sales and profits. Max is a real winner particularly in the impulse
channel and the new Cheese-Burger flavour will be very popular with young
male impulse shoppers. Retailers should stock up now on all Walkers best
selling crisps and snacks to make the most of the highly impulsive sales
opportunity that crisps and snacks offer.”
A wide range of point of sale materials are
available, including a three-case secondary display unit for Cheese-Burger,
Cheese & Onion and Paprika flavours which will create fantastic standout in
store and draw customers’ attention to the new and improved range and
generate interest.
Walkers Max Cheese-Burger has an RRP of 53p and is
available in cases of 32.
