 March 10 - 13 2009, world's most important trade fair for food and drink
technology, the
Anuga FoodTec, opens it's doors in Koeln, Germany.
For our readers visiting this exhibition, we have made this
special edition of the PotatoPro Newsletter, highlighting companies present in the PotatoPro
directories that exhibit at the Anuga FoodTec. We also provide a glimpse of the products you
may see there.

For quite some years, Anuga Foodtec exhibition has proven to be the most
essential of its kind
to a global audience in the food processing supply chain. For
this reason Kiremko have decided to invest in a significant
presence at Anuga FoodTec. You are welcome to our stand in

 A
high-speed tray packing line, an automatic weigher for
fresh, sticky products, the latest X-ray inspection system,
and a new software programme that can link up to 100
checkweighers to provide valuable production data, are the
major packing line solutions that Ishida Europe will be
demonstrating at Anuga FoodTec, showcasing the company’s
expertise in automation, product weighing and handling,
safety and QC systems.

 Sormac shows at the Anuga
FoodTec its latest addition to its range
of vegetable cleaning equipment, a new rotating Brush polisher,
model BRR. The BRR drum has
sixteen brush rollers of 200 mm diameter and 3 meters long.
The individual brush rollers and the drum each rotate
independently of each other, so that the product is
thoroughly cleaned. The brushes are available with a range
of different strength bristles, depending on the product for
which they are to be used.
For the technical design of the BRR the good experience
gained with the successful CRR revolver peeler was used.
Details that have proven to be good, such as the double
bearings in the rollers have been copied. The brush rollers
are easily and quickly changed, without any need to remove
the bearings, thanks to a unique clamp system.

 Dornow
Food technology, specialized in peeling of potato and other
produce have a lot of new information available on their
range of peeling machines. Here is a peek preview: the new
brochure of their universal multidisc peeling machines
(MSS), available in various sizes. These peelers can be set
up for carborundum peeling , knife peeling as well as a
combination of both. The brochure also shows a range of
other peeling equipment offered by Dornow.

There is a need for food companies to be more sustainable in
their processing methods and Heat and Control have over 40
years experience in achieving food manufacturing efficiency.
Various technologies have been developed that make
significant changes such as improving air quality, water
conservation and reduction in energy use and they are
available to existing operations as a retro-fit as well as
for new commissions. Heat and Control can offer realistic
options as to how a manufacturer can introduce more
sustainable practices. This means that any processor can
benefit now, not when they need to build a new line.
Technologies and equipment available take a whole-of-system
approach across all areas of food production and include
heat exchangers, heat recovery systems, air quality
equipment and fresh water reducing systems.
