The Variclean advanced cleaner and separator from Herbert, leaders in root crop handling systems, is now available with an electric powerpack, as an alternative to hydraulic, especially for the process industry.

The Herbert Variclean is designed for the removal of stone, clod and haulm. It offers a choice of spiral roller flight heights, an automated “eject” clearing system on clod rollers, individual roller drives for maximum flexibility and control, and an angle adjustable module for a variable cleaning effect.

It also incorporates the very latest in technological developments that combine improved cleaning, gentler handling, reduced energy consumption and low maintenance. The new option of the electric powerpack makes it even more suitable for use by food processors.

Herbert’s Glen Burt explains the benefits: “This is a real plus for food processors. Electric powerpacks are far more hygienic and processors are not faced with the problem of dismantling hydraulic drives in the event of maintenance or breakdown, which can mean lengthy downtime and some wastage of produce.

“There is no loss in performance, though, as the electric powerpack is economical in operation, quiet, extremely reliable and operates efficiently and effectively on lines even with high throughput.”
