"The Near East brand has been making couscous, rice pilaf and pasta products that have been pantry staples in kitchens across the country for decades," said Dave Skena, vice president of marketing, Frito-Lay. "We are proud to bring those authentic Mediterranean flavors and textures to what we know best – snacks – with Near East Multigrain Chips."

The Near East brand launched in 1962, when George and Hannah Kalajian served home-cooked, Mediterranean-inspired meals at their lunch counter in Worcester, Mass. Starting with classic dishes like rice pilaf and couscous, the Near East brand has grown to embrace a wide variety of exceptional foods and flavors, all with a regional flair.

Near East Multigrain Chips, offered by PepsiCo's Frito-Lay division, are available in the deli section of grocery stores nationwide in 7-oz. bags for a suggested retail price of $3.99.
