United States Potato Stocks Down 7 Percent From June 2015

In the United States, the 13 major potato producing states held 52.2 million cwt of potatoes in storage June 1, 2016, down 7 percent from June 1, 2015.

Potatoes in storage accounted for 13 percent of the fall storage States' 2015 production, down 1 percent from last year.

Potato disappearance, at 346 million cwt, was up 2 percent from June 1, 2015. Season-to-date shrink and loss, at 24.0 million cwt, was 6 percent lower than last year.
