Bayer CropScience Russia

The first alizarin dye production company appeared in Moscow in 1876. Bayer exports satisfied about 75% of Russian demand for artificial colouring materials. However, due to high import duties on finished products in 1883, it was decided to expand production in Russia.

In January 1884, the factory was purchased. In 1897, the company opened its own sales agency, and same year «Friedr. Bayer&Co» was officially established in Moscow.

In 1912, the company was transformed into the joint-stock company «Chem. Fabrik Friedr. Bayer&Co.» Production was going uphill, but the outbreak of World War I stopped the relationship.

The most important milestone in the history of the company in Russia was 1978, when the Bayer office was reopened in Moscow. In the mid-90s of the last century, Bayer CJSC was registered. Bayer is now represented in Russia by Crop Science and HealthCare.

Currently, Bayer offices are located not only in the Russian Federation, but also in the CIS countries - in Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Bayer has offices in several major Russian cities.
