Restrain, the well-known manufacturer of anti-sprouting systems for potatoes is expanding its business in Latin America. Since April 1, the company has been receiving assistance on the continent itself.

After placing an order, Restrain customers can now go online and complete an online training course in which they will learn how the Restrain system works, and what storage managers should take into account applying ethylene as a sprout inhibitor. The course is currently available in 8 different languages.

The German Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) has approved the ethylene-based sprout suppressor Restrain as a safe crop protection product with immediate effect. The approval applies to the treatment of potatoes (for both domestic consumption and starch production), onions, garlic, shallots, propagating material, and tomatoes.
