What will be you favorite crisp flavour this holiday season? Will it be 'Brussels Sprouts' or 'Christmas tree'?

Here at PotatoPro we are no longer surprised to see 'unexpected' flavoured potato chips or fries from Japan. We've seen lots...

But these two flavours from the o-so-traditional British Island, both launched specifically for what is arguably the most-traditional-holiday-of-all really caught us off-guard:

“What will be you favorite crisp flavour this holiday season?”

“Will it be 'Brussels Sprouts' or 'Christmas tree'... ?”

Walkers is launching a range of Christmas flavours in single and multi-pack formats, in a move designed to “spark debate” about Brussel Sprouts.

Single pack flavours include Turkey & Stuffing, Pigs in Blankets, and Brussels Sprouts, each retailing at 65p each.

Multi-packs include two of each, retailing at £1.50:

  • Brussels Sprouts, Turkey & Stuffing and Pigs in Blankets flavours

Andrew Hawkswell, marketing manager at brand owner PepsiCo:

“Walkers has a proven track record of launching fun and playful flavours that really get the nation talking, and this year we wanted to bring some of that magic to Christmas.”

“We know the sprout debate is one that divides the nation, so we wanted to offer product solutions for both sides of the debate, and ask people to decide whether they are a #SproutLover or #SproutHater.”
The limited edition range will be available starting today and will be supported by TV, digital and PR activity.

Christmas Tree Flavoured Crisps

Supermarket Chain Iceland is taking ‘quirky’ to the next level with their rather bizarre crisp creation 'Christmas Tree Flavour Salted'

Supermarket Chain Iceland is taking ‘quirky’ to the next level with their rather bizarre crisp creation 'Christmas Tree Flavour Salted'

Also in the United Kingdom, frozen food supermarket chain Iceland have launched Christmas tree flavoured crisps.

‘The Luxury Christmas Tree Flavour Salted Hand Cooked Crisps’ are made with oil from real pine needles and cost just £1 for a 180g bag.

Iceland’s Head Chef, Neil Nugent:

“At Iceland we are always evolving our product range to include the latest foods and trends.”

“The Christmas Tree Crisps have a slight ready salted flavour with a hint of pine that creates a completely new combination, unlike any other festive flavour.”
Not easily convinced by the average marketing claim, I somehow have no trouble believing these chips are indeed ...'unlike any other festive flavour...'

Other flavours in Iceland's Luxury Crisps range include Lobster Cocktail and Luxury Pigs in Blankets.

Available now in stores and online.
