Wyma offers new Clean-In-Place System for Vege-Polisher™ and Vege-Peeler
May 07, 2013

Manufacturer of vegetable handling equipment Wyma has developed a series of Clean-In-Place [CIP] features for its Vege-Polisher™ and Vege-Peeler.

These new Clean-In-Place features help pack-houses and processing facilities to meet strict hygiene requirements and provide some level of automation to the traditionally manual cleaning procedure.

The CIP system can be added to all newly ordered Wyma Vege-Polishers and Vege-Peelers, or Wyma’s after-sales team can retrofit them to existing Wyma Vege-Polishers and Vege-Peelers.

The main components of the CIP system are:

  • Two internal spray bars to spray clean water on brushes, hood and drum. These are mostly used for rinsing.

  • One internal spray bar to spray a chemical cleaning or sanitising solution. It is supplied with angle adjustment capability to control spray reach.

  • Panels added to door interiors to allow water and debris to exit to recycling base, and to aid internal cleaning.

  • Protection guard placed at in-feed and out-feed ends to protect drive systems from water ingress, maximising their life span.

  • Spray bar placed above the Wyma Rotary Brush Water Recycling System (if applicable) to clean any waste/debris from the filter, complementing the rotary brush action.

  • Control system to run machine and recycling system (if applicable) on CIP cycle at end of day/run to complement weekly cleaning protocol. This option is only available if a Wyma control system is supplied.

A separate chemical foam application system can be added to the above CIP options. The foam application system includes top spray nozzles, foam unit, chemical pump and piping from foam unit to Vege-Polisher™ or Vege-Peeler.
