Growers, suppliers, grubbing demonstrations - everything to do with potatoes. That is what the latest edition of Potato Europe was all about. This year, this trade show was held in Doornik/Tournai, Belgium on 4 and 5 September. Parking, accessibility, and the exhibition layout were well organized.

A large tent housed the indoor show. Outside there were pagoda tents where the larger implements were demonstrated.

Big names from the potato industry were again strongly represented at the trade fair. These companies took the opportunity to showcase their latest innovations. Many new technical developments were presented. These new techniques should make it easier to produce and process potatoes.

Restrain: ethylene gas systems are a nice alternative to Chloroprovan. This germination inhibitor will be banned from October 2020. An ethanol generator is used to distribute ethylene through a storage room.

There was a bit of drizzle on the first day. The following day, however, the sunshine made up for this. There was a pleasant atmosphere at the show. Visitors, as well as stand-holders, are looking forward to the next edition of Potato Europe.

The next Potato Europe will be held in the little town of Villers-St-Christophe in France. It will run from 2 to 3 September 2020.
