In three weeks PotatoEurope 2017 opens its doors. The deputy of the province of Flevoland will have the honor of opening the trade fair.

Over 265 exhibitors (+8 %) from 16 countries will share their potato expertise with you in their booths and allow visitors a look in the potato chain of the future.

The potato platform of 2017, PotatoEurope, has many innovative elements.

The platform consists of an international trade fair, field demonstrations, multiple machinery demonstrations, knowledge sessions, a young professional program, an innovation award, company visits and much more. The organization of the event, DLG Benelux, expects around 15,000 visitors from 50 countries. The nearly sold out exhibition is an important meeting point for growers, contractors, processors, packers, buyers and traders of fresh and processed potatoes from all over the world. World Potato City Emmeloord is the international potato platform of the world during these 2 days.

Highlights PotatoEurope 2017

  • Theme ´Potatoes Feed / Meet the world´.
  • Free interactive knowledge sessions with themes from the whole potato chain in the conference room on the trade fair and in Emmeloord City Hotel ‘t Voorhuys.
  • Machinery demonstrations with potato harvesters, transport vehicles, storage machinery and box filling equipment - all live in action. The machines are pulled by Case IH tractors.
  • Trial fields with a wide range of seed potatoes, fertilization and crop protections
  • Precision farming project in cooperation with Case IH.
  • Innovation Award.
  • Students and young professionals program in cooperation with Agrofoodcluster.
  • Company visits in cooperation with TKI Agri & Food and the FME.
  • Potatoes throughout the catering of the trade fair.
To feed the growing world population, innovation plays an important role. To emphasize innovations from the potato chain, the PotatoEurope Innovation Award has been established. For the competition 26 innovation have been handed in.

A competent jury will decide which 5 innovation will go to the next round, in which the public may designate the final winner. Peter Kooman, lector potato chain and sector innovation at Aeres University of Applied Science will hand out the award on Wednesday 13 September at 09.15 hrs. Directly after the opening of the trade fair.
