Gaat door als gepland
In person en online
This workshop, to be held in Switzerland, is organised by EuroBlight - a potato late blight network for Europe and will take place from 9-12 May 2022 at Monte Verità, Ascona.

The local host is Agroscope, the Swiss centre of excellence for agricultural research. The plenary sessions will be broadcasted.

The main objective of the workshop is to present and discuss recent results on integrated control of late blight (Phytophthora infestans) and early blight (Alternaria spp.).

Specific themes will be:

  • Fungicide resistance avoidance strategies and use of alternative products to control late blight and early blight
  • Exploiting knowledge of the host, the pathogens and the interactions for improved control strategies and DSSs
  • Precision agriculture - success stories and how to break barriers
  • Global issues - how can a global view of pathogen information help the individual farmer?
After lunch on day 2, presentations and discussions will continue in 4 subgroups:

  • Potato late blight monitoring
  • DSSs and host resistance
  • Alternaria
  • Fungicides and alternatives
Subgroup meetings are held during the workshops to organise harmonised protocols and co-ordinate and integrate research. We will also follow up on the EuroBlight statement including recommendations from the 2021 virtual workshop.
