After an incredibly challenging season for potato growers, the ADAS Syngenta 2012 Potato Conference and Exhibition is perfectly timed to provide the essential new technical innovation and marketing inspiration for all growers, agronomists and potato industry specialists.
Taking place on Thursday 22 November at Newark Showground in Nottinghamshire, the Potato Conference and Exhibition will tackle the topical headline issues of progressive management for healthy tubers, increased yield and resource stewardship.
Key speakers at the conference, set to attract visitors from across the UK, Ireland and Europe, include David Firman of Cambridge University Farms, addressing cultivations and seed quality, Martyn Silgram of ADAS with advice on soil management and prime financial pointers on business performance from Bidwells’ Neil Cameron.
Alongside the leading industry conference, visitors have the opportunity to view and engage with an extensive exhibition of trade stands and potato machinery manufacturers, including new innovations in planting, harvesting and grading equipment.
Syngenta Potato Crop Manager, Andrew Curtis, said: “The 2012 season has created very difficult conditions for growers. The Potato Conference and Exhibition will give progressive potato farmers an essential insight into the new developments in agronomy, equipment, application and business tools necessary for the successful future direction of their businesses.”
Steven Tompkins of ADAS added: “This event provides a platform for discussion and debate on the issues, opportunities and challenges facing the potato industry. Previous ADAS Syngenta conferences have been very well attended, and have proven of great benefit to all those taking part.”
The ADAS Syngenta 2012 Potato Conference and Exhibition is organised in partnership with the Potato Council. The event is registered for both NRoSO and BASIS CPD points.
