Former McCain Foods Plant in Penola (Australia) gets a new life as dairy processing facility

In South Australia, McCain has sold its former potato processing factory at Penola to a meat processor, to the dismay of some local growers.

About 20 food manufacturing workers at the McCain Foods New Zealand, Hastings plant are expected to lose their jobs. The plant announced to workers a proposal to reduce year-round production of TV dinners to just 10 days per year.

Potato farmers are looking to take control of the Penola Safries plant to use it for storage.

McCain Foods is bringing its new branding to Australia. The new branding, developed by brand agency BrandOpus, was first introduced in the United Kingdom and marked the first complete overhaul of the McCain logo in more than 50 years.
