This variety is a cross between Marabel and AR 93-1243, an Agrico Research seedling. Marabel is a major consumer variety in Germany. This is the first successful variety for breeder Jan Lucas Spijkman.

Mimi is a productive creamer variety producing a high number of round uniform tubers. It has an attractive light red skin and creamy flesh with great cooking characteristics. The plant canopy on variety Mimi is relatively small and therefore requires some extra agronomic attention to maximize results.

Red Norland is a red-skinned, white-fleshed cultivar with a primary use for salads, very good for boiling. However, it can also be good for making french fries and potato chips but is not good for baking.
