Met het binnenvallen van de winterkou is het rooiseizoen vorige week definitief beëindigd. Verspreid over Nederland is 2.000-2.500 ha consumptieaardappelen niet gerooid. Hiervan ligt het merendeel (71%) onder de grote rivieren, met name in het Zuidwesten.
Opvallend is dat, ondanks het feit dat niet alle aardappelen zijn gerooid, de fysieke markt momenteel nog nauwelijks in beweging komt.
Er is blijkbaar voldoende aanbod van aardappelen uit een provisorische vaak niet vorstvrije bewaring. Ook aardappelen die vanwege kwaliteitsproblemen versneld moeten worden weggewerkt, zorgen voor druk op de ketel.
Onder invloed van m.n. de aanhoudende vraag vanuit het exportsegment is er duidelijk een stijgende trend in de markt voor fritesaardappelen waarneembaar.
