Vanaf vandaag is de Opperdoezer ronde beschikbaar in een 1 kilogram verpakking. Hiervoor is een nieuwe verpakking ontwikkeld waarop het kenmerkende dorpslint van Opperdoes staat afgebeeld.
De Opperdoezer Ronde is een aardappel met een unieke smaak uit het teeltgebied rond het plaatsje Opperdoes. De Opperdoezer Ronde wordt alleen rondom Opperdoes geteeld in een gebied van 160 hectare.
Sinds 1996 heeft de Opperdoezer Ronde een ’Beschermde Oorsprongsbenaming’, kortweg BOB. De naam is op Europees niveau beschermd en geen enkele andere aardappel mag onder deze naam op de markt gebracht worden.
