Alonso is a mid-season table potato variety with a higher yield of medium to large tubers.

Key Characteristics: 

  • Tuber Size & Shape: Medium to large, round-oval tubers with shallow eyes.
  • Skin & Flesh Color: Yellow skin with yellow flesh.
  • Tuber Set: Early formation of an average number of tubers.
  • Disease Resistance: High resistance to Potato Leaf Roll Virus (PLRV). Resistant to Y virus and Potato Late Blight in tubers. Medium resistance to common scab and late blight in foliage. Resistant to Potato Wart Disease (Ro 1, Ro 4).
  • Harvesting: Due to the early tuber set, early harvesting is possible.
  • Cooking Type: A/B (firm to medium-firm).
  • Earliness: Very early.
  • Storability: Good.
