The 'Arcade' potato is an early-maturing variety resulting from a cross between 'Agria' and 'VK 69491'. The tubers are oval to long with white to yellow skin, shallow to medium eyes, and yellow flesh. They are large, uniform, and have a high yield potential, producing many tubers per plant. The 'Arcade' potato is versatile in the kitchen, suitable for baking, mashing, roasting, grilling, or in potato salads.
In terms of disease resistance, 'Arcade' has high to very high resistance to late blight on tubers but low to medium resistance on foliage. It is field-immune to wart disease (Synchytrium endobioticum) race 1 and shows high to very high resistance to potato viruses A, X, and Y, with medium resistance to potato leaf roll virus. However, it has low to medium resistance to common scab (Streptomyces scabies).
The 'Arcade' potato has a high dry matter content, resulting in a mealy to fairly firm texture when cooked, with trace to little after-cooking blackening. Its adaptability to various soil types and conditions makes it accessible for many gardeners.
