Integration of optical sorting in Tong's Caretaker potato grader proves top-grade
Tong Engineering offered the option of integrated optical sorting within its market leading grading machine, the Caretaker, back in 2016. This has proved to be a very welcome addition.
A conveyor belt takes potatoes into the $1.1 million chemical imaging machine (Insort's Sherlock Separator-2400) to be inspected for foreign objects or defects, such as surface scabs or rot.
