Op de BioVak, dé biologische vakbeurs voor ondernemers uit de biologische land- en tuinbouw, brachten onder meer de burgemeesters van 26 plattelandsgemeenten en de Ambassadeur van Algerije een bezoek aan de stand van aardappelcoöperatie Agrico.
Vooruitlopend op de bereiding van de grootste biologische stamppot van Nederland ontvingen de burgemeesters en Ambassadeur alvast een stamper en een zakje Bioselect stamppotaardappelen.
Tot en met september 2010 groeide de afzet van biologische producten in de supermarkt met 20 procent. De markt voor biologische producten groeide daarmee vorig jaar sterker dan de twee jaren daarvoor. Opmerkelijk want mensen hadden vorig jaar gemiddeld genomen minder te besteden. Van de totale omzet aan biologische AGF in Nederland nemen aardappelen een kwart voor hun rekening.
Met 60 aangesloten biologische telers en een oppervlakte van ruim 600 hectare is Agrico de grootste leverancier van biologisch geteelde poot- en consumptieaardappelen.
