Potato variety development and commercialization are the main fields of focus for the FPD Group. They have been producing and distributing premium potato seed for more than 20 years, founded in 1996.
Agrico and Meijer, are represented by FPD in South Africa. This agreement permits FPD to import, market, and cultivate Meijer and Agrico varieties in South Africa.
In earlier times, FPD worked on the processing industry, which is a growing business in South Africa. FPD has a strong position in the table market since it is aggressively importing new PBR types after establishing its market dominance in this sector.
They are constantly doing new trails and importing new varieties to improve the South African market, giving the production sector a bigger selection and giving the end-user a better tasting, better looking high quality product.
The FPD Group Head Office is located in Bellville, in the Western Cape, where the administration team is located, supporting the marketing & production teams. Their Marketing and Production teams are located in Christiana, in the North West, travelling all over South Africa in their drive to produce and deliver the perfect potato seed.

Advanced Potato Propagation Pty Ltd (APP)
Advanced Potato Propagation (APP) provides disease-free, high-quality micro tubers to seed growers, grown in world-class greenhouses. APP manufactures tiny tubers twice a year on request and harvests them in July and again in January, accommodating both PBR varieties and open or free types, such as BP1, Van Der Plank, Hertha, etc.
