Potato Processing International magazine (formerly Potato Business World) began in 1992, with the popular International Potato Processing Convention successfully starting in 1997.
When we announced Potato Storage International magazine in 2004, it was clear that there was also a demand for a convention that offered an international look at the global opportunities for the storage industry.
So we created the International Potato Storage Convention, 'twinned' with the established International Potato Processing Convention, running the two events side-by-side.
This created a broader, higher value event that was very effective and greatly liked by attendees.
But interestingly, we found that attendees wanted to attend both programmes, so we changed the format to present one overall programme, but distinctly themed.
Offering dedicated programmes for each of the storage and processing industries, plus an 'industry' programme of topics important to both sectors, plus delegates being free enjoy both programmes as much as they wished and sharing break out facilities created great interaction.
Feedback demanded the concept of combining the two events should continue. This it will, with some additions to further enhance the event.
