Variety Description

Asante is an early-maturing potato variety developed by CIP, suited for high-altitude regions above 2,300 m.a.s.l. It produces round tubers with pink smooth skin, pale yellow flesh, and shallow eyes. Known for good yields (35–45 tons/ha) and fair tolerance to late blight, it is ideal for boiling, baking, mashing, and roasting. Asante has a short dormancy period and thrives under good agronomic practices.
