Variety Description

Ulster Chieftain is a very early to early maturing potato with a semi-erect growth habit and white flowers. The tubers are oval with white to yellow skin and white flesh, featuring medium to shallow eyes. It has good resistance to potato virus A and tobacco rattle virus, but is susceptible to late blight and low resistance to common scab. The variety is best suited for mealy to fairly firm cooking and has poor suitability for crisping and French fries.
