Compañía Cibeles SA is a Uruguayan agrochemical company that formulates, produces and distributes crop protection products for potato cultivation and other field crops. Its agro division supplies herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, acaricides, seed treatments and adjuvants, most of them formulated at the company's own industrial plants, and supports growers through a technical department. Cibeles positions itself as a supplier of crop protection inputs for potato and arable farming in Uruguay and in export markets across Latin America.
The company was founded in 1976 with wholly Uruguayan capital, initially acting as exclusive representative and distributor of Merck Sharp & Dohme veterinary and agrochemical products in Uruguay. From 1978 it also began importing and distributing MSD products exclusively, and later exclusive distributorships for the Sandoz Agro line and other suppliers completed the agrochemical range. The agro division, which used to operate as a distributor, now manages its own agrochemical line, largely formulated at its industrial plant in Joaquín Suárez (Canelones) and complemented with imported specialties. The company's products are sold on the domestic market and exported to Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, Mexico, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Nicaragua and Honduras.

Cibeles also formulates exclusive products for the German multinational DVA for sale in Argentina, Paraguay, Panama, Nicaragua and Honduras. The company counts more than 200 employees and is a member of the Chamber of Industries of Uruguay (CIU), ASIQUR, the Uruguayan Exporters Union and the Campo Limpio container-management programme.
