27th China Potato Congress 2026

The 27th China Potato Congress (2026) will take place from 3–6 August 2026 in Weichang Manchu and Mongolian Autonomous County, Chengde, Hebei, China. Organized by the Potato Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Crop Science, the congress is a major professional gathering for China’s potato sector, bringing together researchers, breeders, seed-potato producers, growers, agricultural companies and industry professionals. 

The congress theme is “Potato Industry and Ecological Agriculture,” reflecting the sector’s growing focus on sustainable production, modern agricultural technologies and ecological farming. The programme covers potato genetic breeding, seed-potato production, cultivation and crop management, plant protection, processing and utilization, smart agriculture, market development and emerging technologies. Alongside academic presentations, the event features exhibitions, commercial exchanges and opportunities to explore potato-industry technologies and products.

The four-day programme begins with registration on 3 August, followed by the main keynote presentations on 4 August. 5 August will feature specialist seminars, a young researchers’ forum and the closing ceremony, while 6 August is dedicated to field visits and on-site observation. The congress will also showcase seed-potato production, cultivation technologies, plant protection, processing, machinery, facilities and potato products, connecting scientific research with practical industry applications.
