This Privacy Policy explains how Food Innovation Online Corp., operator of PotatoPro, collects, uses, stores and shares information when You use PotatoPro websites, applications, AI services, communications and related services.
It also explains how PotatoPro uses information to make its services more relevant, support business connections and develop industry insights, and describes the privacy choices and rights available to users.
Our Approach to Privacy
PotatoPro is a global industry platform operated by Food Innovation Online Corp., a Canadian company.
Our approach to privacy starts with describing clearly what information we collect, why we use it, how it contributes to the services we provide, and the choices available to users.
We aim to collect and use information in ways that create genuine value for users and the industries we serve while limiting unnecessary use, duplication or disclosure of Personal Data.
Canadian privacy requirements apply to PotatoPro where applicable. Because PotatoPro serves users around the world, additional privacy and data-protection laws may also apply depending on the circumstances and the location of the user.
We regard European privacy and data-protection principles as an important reference point as we continue to develop our systems and privacy practices.
Our aim is to progressively incorporate principles such as data minimization, transparency, appropriate retention, user control and privacy by design across the PotatoPro platform.
This is an aspiration and direction for the design of PotatoPro rather than a representation that every privacy law or legal requirement applies equally to every user or service.
Where applicable law provides additional rights or protections, PotatoPro will apply those requirements where legally required.
Who We Are
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:
PotatoPro refers to the websites, applications, AI services and other services operated under the PotatoPro name.
Company, We, Us or Our refers to:
Food Innovation Online Corp.
New Brunswick, Canada
Personal Data means information relating to an identified or identifiable individual.
You or User means an individual using or interacting with PotatoPro.
Information concerning companies, organizations, products, facilities, markets and other business entities is not necessarily Personal Data. However, business information may also constitute Personal Data where it identifies or relates to an individual.
Information We Collect
PotatoPro collects information necessary to operate the Service, communicate with users, understand how the platform is used and make the information and services we provide more relevant.
The information we collect depends on how You interact with PotatoPro. You do not need to have a registered account for some information to be collected.
Information You Provide
You may provide Personal Data to PotatoPro when You:
- create or maintain an account;
- subscribe to communications;
- contact PotatoPro;
- submit a form or inquiry;
- request information;
- use Supplier Connect;
- request a business introduction;
- communicate with PotatoPro by email, social media, telephone, text message or other channels;
- interact with PotatoPro's AI services; or
- otherwise use the Service.
Information You provide may include:
- name;
- email address;
- telephone number;
- company or organization;
- job title or professional role;
- country, region or other location information;
- communication preferences;
- interests or areas of professional interest;
- information included in messages, requests, inquiries or conversations; and
- other information You choose to provide.
We may also record consent, subscriptions, unsubscribes and other communication preferences relating to email, text messages, push notifications and similar communications.
Usage and Technical Data
PotatoPro automatically collects certain information when the Service is used.
This may include:
- Internet Protocol address;
- approximate geographic location derived from an IP address;
- browser and device information;
- operating system;
- referring page or source;
- pages and content viewed;
- date and time of interactions;
- searches performed;
- interactions with search results;
- interactions with companies, products, services, events and other information;
- advertisements or sponsored content displayed and interactions with them;
- interactions with PotatoPro features and services;
- technical performance and diagnostic information; and
- anonymous or pseudonymous identifiers associated with a user, browser or device.
This information may be collected for registered as well as anonymous or pseudonymous users.
Anonymous and Pseudonymous Users
A visitor does not need to be logged in for PotatoPro to recognize activity across interactions with the Service.
PotatoPro may assign or use an anonymous or pseudonymous identifier and associate information such as pages viewed, searches, interactions, approximate location, professional interests and advertising activity with that identifier.
An anonymous or pseudonymous identifier does not by itself need to contain a person's name, email address or other directly identifying information.
However, information associated with such an identifier may still constitute Personal Data under applicable privacy laws where the information can reasonably be associated with an identifiable individual.
If an anonymous or pseudonymous user later identifies themselves to PotatoPro, for example by creating an account, logging in, subscribing, submitting an inquiry or otherwise providing identifying information, PotatoPro may associate relevant previous activity with the identified user where appropriate.
Identity Management
PotatoPro uses a centralized identity-management approach.
Keycloak is currently used as PotatoPro's central identity-management system for services including the PotatoPro website, applications, AI access and automation systems where applicable.
Centralizing privacy-sensitive identity information helps PotatoPro reduce unnecessary duplication and distribution of directly identifying information between systems.
Other PotatoPro systems increasingly use unique internal identifiers rather than requiring direct access to names, email addresses, telephone numbers or similar identifying information.
Where users choose to authenticate through a supported external identity provider, certain information necessary for authentication may be exchanged with that provider.
Communications and Information From Other Sources
PotatoPro may receive information through channels other than the PotatoPro website or application.
This may include:
- emails sent to PotatoPro or members of the PotatoPro team;
- direct messages, inquiries or other communications sent through social media;
- telephone or text communications;
- communications through third-party platforms on which PotatoPro maintains a presence;
- publicly available professional or company information;
- publicly available websites and publications;
- public professional profiles and social media postings;
- information provided by companies or business partners where appropriate; and
- other professional or industry information available to PotatoPro.
Communications directed to PotatoPro may contain information about a person's professional interests, requirements or intentions.
For example, a person may contact PotatoPro by email or social media asking for a particular type of processing equipment, ingredient, supplier, service or business partner.
We may use information contained in those communications to respond to the inquiry, understand the user's requirements, identify relevant companies or information, improve future interactions and identify professional or business opportunities.
Where appropriate, information from such communications may be associated with an existing anonymous, pseudonymous or registered user profile.
We do not seek to collect information from external sources that is unrelated to PotatoPro's professional and industry purposes.
Professional Interests, Requirements and Inferences
PotatoPro may use information about a user's activity, communications and interactions to identify or infer professional interests, requirements, intentions and topics that are likely to be relevant.
Information used for this purpose may include:
- pages and content viewed;
- searches and interactions with search results;
- interaction with companies, products, services, events and advertising;
- AI questions and interactions;
- forms, inquiries and requests;
- emails sent to PotatoPro;
- social media messages and inquiries;
- professional conversations with the PotatoPro team;
- information provided directly by the user;
- publicly available professional or business information; and
- information appropriately received from advertisers or business partners.
For example, repeated interaction with a particular type of processing equipment, ingredient, market or company may indicate professional interest in that subject.
A direct inquiry may provide an even stronger indication of a current business requirement or intention.
These interests and inferences may be associated with an anonymous or pseudonymous visitor or, where the user is identified, with the user's PotatoPro profile.
PotatoPro may use these interests and inferences to:
- prioritize and recommend relevant information;
- improve search results;
- improve AI responses;
- recommend companies, products, services or events;
- identify potential suppliers or business partners;
- identify information or opportunities that may be relevant;
- personalize communications;
- select relevant advertising or sponsored content; and
- better understand the interests and needs of PotatoPro's audience.
PotatoPro does not sell individual user profiles or inferred interests to third parties.
Search and Discovery Data
PotatoPro may receive or analyze information about how PotatoPro content is discovered through search engines, AI discovery systems, social platforms, referral services or other discovery channels.
This may include information about:
- search terms or topics;
- search impressions;
- clicks;
- referrals;
- geographic patterns;
- changes in search frequency; and
- other patterns showing how PotatoPro information is encountered or discovered.
Such information can help PotatoPro identify changes in industry interest even where a user does not directly interact with PotatoPro.
Because PotatoPro maintains broad coverage of the industries it serves, changes in search and discovery patterns can contribute to understanding emerging subjects, markets and industry developments.
How We Use Information
PotatoPro uses information to operate and improve the Service, respond to users, provide relevant industry information and connect users with information, companies, products, services and opportunities that may be useful.
Providing and Operating PotatoPro
We may use information to:
- provide and maintain PotatoPro websites, applications and services;
- create and manage user accounts;
- authenticate users;
- manage access and usage limits;
- protect accounts and systems;
- remember settings and preferences;
- provide search and navigation functionality;
- maintain system reliability and performance;
- diagnose technical problems; and
- prevent misuse, abuse or excessive use.
Responding to Requests and Inquiries
We may use information provided through forms, email, social media, AI conversations and other channels to understand and respond to requests.
This may include identifying relevant:
- companies and suppliers;
- products and services;
- equipment and technologies;
- ingredients;
- agents and distributors;
- customers;
- events;
- industry information; and
- other business resources or opportunities.
Personalization and Relevance
PotatoPro may use activity, stated preferences, communications and inferred professional interests to make the Service more relevant.
This may include:
- prioritizing relevant news and information;
- improving and personalizing search;
- improving AI responses;
- recommending companies, products, suppliers or events;
- identifying opportunities that may be relevant;
- personalizing newsletters or other communications; and
- selecting advertising or sponsored content that is likely to be relevant.
Personalization may apply to registered as well as anonymous or pseudonymous users.
Understanding Professional Interests and Requirements
PotatoPro may analyze interactions and communications to understand professional interests, requirements and intentions.
Searches, page views, inquiries, AI conversations, emails or social media messages concerning a particular product, technology, market or service may indicate that the subject is relevant to the user.
Where appropriate, such information may be associated with an anonymous, pseudonymous or identified user and may later contribute to company-level, market-level or broader industry information.
Communications
PotatoPro may communicate with users through channels including:
- email;
- text messages;
- mobile or browser push notifications;
- direct responses through social platforms; and
- messages or notifications within PotatoPro services.
Communications may include:
- responses to inquiries;
- account and security information;
- service notifications;
- newsletters and industry information;
- recommended content;
- relevant companies, products or services;
- event information; and
- promotional or marketing communications where permitted.
Where required, PotatoPro will request appropriate permission before sending marketing or promotional communications through channels such as email, text messaging or push notifications.
Users may manage applicable communication preferences, withdraw consent or unsubscribe using the mechanisms provided.
Communications necessary to operate an account, fulfill a request, respond to a user or protect the Service may still be sent where appropriate.
Analytics and Service Improvement
PotatoPro may use information to:
- understand how the Service is used;
- measure audience activity;
- identify trends and changes in interests;
- evaluate content, communications and advertising;
- improve functionality and user experience;
- develop new services;
- maintain system performance and security; and
- understand how PotatoPro serves different markets, regions and sectors.
Where practical, PotatoPro may use aggregated, de-identified or pseudonymous information for these purposes.
Supplier Connect, Inquiries and Business Opportunities
Helping users identify relevant suppliers and business partners is an important part of PotatoPro.
Direct Inquiries to a Specific Company
Where You request information from, ask to contact, request a quotation from or otherwise ask PotatoPro to connect You with a particular company or organization, we may provide that organization with information necessary or useful to understand and respond to the request.
This may include:
- name;
- professional role;
- company or organization;
- email address or telephone number;
- country or location;
- the product or service of interest;
- information included in the inquiry; and
- relevant business context available to PotatoPro.
Where we can reasonably associate an inquirer with a company listed on PotatoPro, we may include or make available relevant information about that company, such as its business activities, industry sector, locations, products, processing activities or other information contained in the PotatoPro company profile.
This additional context can help the recipient understand the nature and potential relevance of the inquiry and provide a more appropriate response.
Submitting an inquiry does not give the recipient general access to the user's PotatoPro profile, browsing history, AI conversations or unrelated information PotatoPro may hold.
Supplier Connect and Open Requirements
Users may submit requirements to PotatoPro without identifying a particular supplier or company they wish to contact.
For example, a user may ask PotatoPro to help identify:
- a supplier of a particular potato product or ingredient;
- a new french fry supplier;
- processing or packaging equipment;
- storage solutions;
- technology or professional services; or
- another product or business solution.
In these situations, PotatoPro may use information provided by the user together with relevant professional, company and industry information available to PotatoPro to understand the requirement and identify organizations that may be suitable.
This may include:
- information provided in the inquiry;
- the user's company, professional role and location;
- relevant PotatoPro company and product information;
- previous inquiries or interactions where relevant;
- professional interests or requirements associated with the user;
- relevant business and industry information; and
- other information reasonably useful for evaluating and matching the opportunity.
PotatoPro may then provide the inquiry or opportunity to one or more companies that we reasonably believe may be relevant.
Information provided to those companies may include the user's contact information, company information, professional role, location, requirements and relevant business context.
By submitting an open supplier or business inquiry, the user authorizes PotatoPro to use the information for the purpose of identifying and facilitating relevant business connections.
Potential suppliers do not thereby receive general access to the user's PotatoPro profile or unrelated Personal Data.
Business Recommendations, Market Introductions and Opportunity Matching
PotatoPro may use its industry knowledge, company information, market data, business interactions and other relevant information to help companies identify suitable commercial opportunities and business partners.
Companies may ask PotatoPro to suggest potential:
- agents;
- distributors;
- representatives;
- suppliers;
- customers;
- service providers;
- technology partners; or
- other business relationships.
In responding to such requests, PotatoPro may consider information such as:
- company activities and market presence;
- products and services;
- geographic coverage;
- industry relationships;
- publicly available business information;
- previous business interactions with PotatoPro;
- aggregated market activity;
- relevant inquiries and business-level signals; and
- PotatoPro's own industry knowledge and assessment.
Because PotatoPro maintains broad and structured coverage of the potato industry and related markets, we may be able to identify relationships, emerging needs and commercial opportunities that are not immediately apparent from individual sources of information.
PotatoPro may use these insights to recommend potential business partners, identify customers or suppliers, facilitate introductions, help companies evaluate markets and support other forms of professional and commercial matching.
Where an introduction involves Personal Data, PotatoPro aims to limit the information shared to what is appropriate for the professional or business purpose.
Recommendations are based on available information and professional judgment and do not guarantee that a particular company or opportunity will be suitable.
Artificial Intelligence and Automated Processing
PotatoPro uses artificial intelligence, machine learning and other automated systems to help operate, organize, improve and personalize its services.
AI Assistant and Conversational Services
Users are required to authenticate before using PotatoPro's AI and conversational services.
Authentication helps PotatoPro protect the Service against abuse, manage access and apply appropriate usage limits.
Authentication is managed separately from the AI interaction. Where practical, PotatoPro does not provide directly identifying account information such as name, email address or telephone number to the AI system merely because the user is logged in.
The AI service may instead operate using an internal identifier and the information or context needed to provide the requested service.
When You use PotatoPro's AI services, we process the questions, prompts and other information You choose to provide.
Users may include Personal Data in a question or prompt. PotatoPro does not require users to provide unnecessary Personal Data in order to use the AI service, and users should avoid including sensitive or unrelated Personal Data unless it is necessary for the request.
Conversation History and Continuity
PotatoPro may retain AI conversation history so users can review previous conversations and, where supported, continue or build on earlier interactions.
Previous conversations or selected information from them may also be used to provide continuity in future AI interactions.
This can help PotatoPro:
- avoid requiring users to repeatedly provide the same information;
- provide more relevant and context-aware responses;
- remember relevant professional interests or requirements; and
- improve the usefulness of its AI services.
Conversation history and conversational context are distinct from broader classifications or signals that PotatoPro may derive from an interaction.
Derived Signals and Classifications
An AI interaction may contribute to a general indication that:
- a user is interested in a particular product category;
- a company may be evaluating particular equipment or services;
- a market is showing increased activity;
- demand is emerging in a particular region; or
- another professional or industry development may be occurring.
Such generalized interests, requirements or business signals may be stored separately from the conversation itself.
They may be used for purposes including personalization, Supplier Connect, opportunity identification, business matching and industry analysis.
Retention or deletion of a conversation does not necessarily require deletion of legitimately retained company-level, regional, market-level, aggregated or de-identified information derived from it.
Automated Interpretation
PotatoPro may use automated systems to:
- identify or infer professional interests;
- interpret searches and inquiries;
- identify relevant products, companies or services;
- recognize changes in activity;
- associate related information and interactions;
- identify company-level or market-level signals;
- identify potential business opportunities;
- improve recommendations;
- support advertising relevance; and
- identify broader industry trends.
Where an automated interpretation remains associated with an identifiable user, it may constitute Personal Data.
Significant Automated Decisions
PotatoPro does not currently use automated processing to make decisions about individuals that produce legal or similarly significant effects without appropriate safeguards or human involvement.
If PotatoPro introduces such functionality in the future, we will apply applicable legal requirements.
AI Service Providers
PotatoPro may use external technology or AI service providers to support particular functions.
Where Personal Data is processed by a service provider on behalf of PotatoPro, we aim to limit the information provided to what is appropriate for the purpose.
Where practical, PotatoPro prefers architectures that reduce unnecessary transmission of directly identifying information to external AI systems.
Business and Industry Insights
PotatoPro may analyze aggregated activity, inquiries, professional interests, search and discovery data, business information and other signals to identify developments, trends and changes within the industries and markets we cover.
Information contributing to such analysis may include:
- searches and content activity;
- inquiries and requests;
- interactions with companies, products and services;
- AI questions and conversations;
- emails and social media inquiries sent to PotatoPro;
- advertising and content interactions;
- geographic patterns;
- search and discovery data;
- relevant publicly available business or market information; and
- other industry-related signals available to PotatoPro.
Because PotatoPro has broad coverage of the industries it serves, changes in the frequency with which particular subjects are searched for, viewed, requested or encountered can provide useful indications of developing industry activity.
For example, a significant increase in searches, inquiries, search impressions and other activity relating to french fry processing in a particular country may indicate growing interest or potential investment activity in that market.
PotatoPro may combine multiple signals to identify broader:
- industry developments;
- demand patterns;
- emerging technologies;
- investment activity;
- market changes; and
- commercial opportunities.
These insights may be used to:
- improve editorial coverage;
- identify subjects requiring research;
- develop statistics and market insights;
- understand emerging technologies or markets;
- improve recommendations;
- identify relevant business opportunities; and
- inform PotatoPro's business and commercial activities.
Where industry insights are published or shared externally, PotatoPro aims to use aggregated, de-identified or business-level information rather than information identifying individual users unless disclosure is appropriate and permitted.
Advertising, Remarketing and Audience Matching
Advertising and sponsored content help support PotatoPro.
Relevant Advertising
PotatoPro may use contextual information, approximate location, previous interactions and inferred professional interests to select advertising or sponsored content that is likely to be relevant.
Where practical, PotatoPro prefers to perform this selection within its own systems rather than providing individual user profiles or detailed browsing histories to third-party advertising platforms.
Advertisers may receive aggregated or campaign-level reporting such as impressions, interactions, geographic summaries and other performance information.
Advertisers do not receive general access to individual PotatoPro user profiles merely because advertising has been shown to those users.
Future Remarketing and Audience Matching
PotatoPro does not currently operate all forms of remarketing or advertiser audience matching that may be technically possible.
PotatoPro may in the future offer functionality that uses previous interactions to determine which advertising, content or recommendations may be relevant during a later interaction.
Where offered, such functionality may include information appropriately provided by advertisers or other business partners indicating that a user, organization or audience has previously interacted with their website, products or services.
PotatoPro may also use business-level information to identify companies or professional audiences that appear to have demonstrated interest in particular products, technologies or services.
Where remarketing or audience matching involves Personal Data, tracking technologies or information received from another organization, PotatoPro will apply applicable privacy, transparency and consent requirements.
PotatoPro prefers approaches that minimize the exchange of directly identifying Personal Data.
Advertisers are not provided access to individual PotatoPro profiles merely because users are included in an advertising audience.
Sale of Personal Information
PotatoPro does not sell Personal Data.
We do not sell or rent individual user profiles, browsing histories, inquiries or inferred interests to advertisers or other third parties.
The provision of Personal Data to a service provider acting on behalf of PotatoPro, or the sharing of information necessary to fulfill a user's request or business introduction, is not a sale of Personal Data by PotatoPro.
Cookies, Identifiers and Tracking Technologies
PotatoPro uses cookies, unique identifiers and similar technologies to operate the Service, recognize users and devices, maintain preferences, understand how the Service is used and make content and services more relevant.
Cookie Consent Management
PotatoPro currently uses Cookiebot to manage cookie consent and privacy choices on the website.
Where applicable, Cookiebot is used to inform users about categories of cookies and similar technologies and to record or apply the choices users make.
Users may review or change applicable cookie preferences through the consent controls provided on the PotatoPro website.
Cookies and Local Technologies
PotatoPro may use cookies or similar technologies to:
- maintain sessions and authentication;
- remember settings and preferences;
- protect the security of the Service;
- recognize returning browsers or devices;
- associate activity with anonymous or pseudonymous identifiers;
- understand use of PotatoPro;
- measure performance;
- personalize content and recommendations; and
- select and measure relevant advertising or sponsored content.
Some technologies are necessary for operation and security. Others may support analytics, personalization or advertising.
Where required by applicable law, PotatoPro will request appropriate consent before using non-essential technologies.
Third-Party Embedded Content
PotatoPro may include or embed content from third-party services, such as video or other media platforms.
We aim to minimize unnecessary third-party tracking and, where practical, configure embedded services so they do not place non-essential cookies or collect unnecessary information before a user interacts with them.
However, we cannot guarantee that all third-party embedded services are completely free of cookies, identifiers or other tracking technologies.
Where applicable, such technologies may be subject to the user's consent choices.
Third-party services may process information according to their own privacy policies and technical configurations.
Email and Other Communication Services
PotatoPro currently uses Brevo as an email communication and marketing service provider.
Information necessary to manage and deliver communications may be processed by Brevo on behalf of PotatoPro.
PotatoPro may use information about a recipient's professional interests, interactions or stated preferences to make communications more relevant.
Recipients may unsubscribe from marketing email using the unsubscribe mechanism included in those communications or by contacting PotatoPro.
Where PotatoPro offers marketing communications through text messages or push notifications, applicable consent and opt-out mechanisms will be provided.
When and With Whom We Share Information
PotatoPro does not sell Personal Data.
We may share or make information available to another organization where appropriate for operating the Service, fulfilling a user's request, providing a service, complying with legal requirements or carrying out another purpose described in this Privacy Policy.
Service Providers
PotatoPro uses service providers to support areas such as:
- hosting and infrastructure;
- identity management;
- communications;
- analytics;
- security;
- content delivery;
- AI and technology services; and
- technical operations.
Service providers may process information on behalf of PotatoPro where necessary to perform their services.
PotatoPro aims to limit the information provided to what is reasonably necessary and, where practical, use systems and providers that reduce unnecessary sharing of privacy-sensitive information.
Inquiries and Business Connections
Where You ask PotatoPro to connect You with another organization, information appropriate for that request may be shared with the relevant organization as described in the Supplier Connect and Business Opportunities section.
Advertisers and Sponsors
Advertisers and sponsors do not receive general access to PotatoPro user profiles simply because they advertise on PotatoPro.
PotatoPro may provide aggregated or campaign-level reporting.
Where an advertiser or supplier receives an inquiry, Personal Data may be provided because the user has requested or initiated that business interaction.
Business Partners
PotatoPro may work with organizations on services, industry initiatives, research, events or other activities.
Where information needs to be shared with a business partner, PotatoPro aims to limit the sharing to information appropriate for the relevant purpose.
A commercial or partnership relationship with PotatoPro does not by itself provide access to PotatoPro's user database.
Aggregated, De-identified and Business Information
PotatoPro may use or share aggregated, de-identified or business-level information for purposes such as:
- industry analysis;
- statistics and market insights;
- advertising reporting;
- research;
- editorial activities;
- business development; and
- understanding industry trends and opportunities.
Where information is represented as aggregated or de-identified, PotatoPro aims to ensure that it does not reasonably identify an individual.
Corporate Transactions
If PotatoPro or Food Innovation Online Corp. is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, sale of assets or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to applicable privacy requirements.
Legal and Security Requirements
PotatoPro may disclose information where reasonably necessary to:
- comply with applicable law;
- respond to lawful requests;
- protect the rights, property or security of PotatoPro or others;
- investigate fraud, misuse or security incidents;
- enforce agreements and policies; or
- establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
With Your Direction or Consent
PotatoPro may share information where You direct us to do so or where You have otherwise provided appropriate consent.
Data Retention and Historical Industry Record
PotatoPro maintains a long-term record of the potato industry and related markets.
Preserving historical company, product, event, market and industry information is an important part of the PotatoPro Service.
As a result, some information may be retained for extended periods or indefinitely where it contributes to this historical industry record.
This may include:
- company and organization information;
- products and services;
- facilities and locations;
- business relationships and industry developments;
- events and historical event information;
- publicly available professional and business information;
- market and industry statistics;
- aggregated search and discovery trends;
- aggregated inquiries and demand signals; and
- other information useful for understanding how the industry has developed over time.
Personal Identity and Historical Information
Personal Data associated with an identifiable individual is treated differently from the historical industry information itself.
PotatoPro may associate activity, inquiries, communications, professional interests and other interactions with an identifiable user where the association remains useful for:
- providing or personalizing the Service;
- maintaining a professional or business relationship;
- facilitating business opportunities;
- security;
- communications; or
- another purpose described in this Privacy Policy.
Information may remain associated with an identifiable individual while that association continues to serve a relevant purpose.
The appropriate period may depend on factors including the nature and recency of the interaction, an ongoing account or business relationship, outstanding inquiries or opportunities and the reasonable likelihood of future professional interaction.
Where continued identification is no longer reasonably necessary, PotatoPro may remove or sever the association between the information and the person's identity while retaining pseudonymous, aggregated, de-identified, business-level or statistical information where that information continues to have legitimate value.
Information concerning companies and organizations may be retained for substantially longer periods.
A company's activities, investments, products, facilities, relationships, capabilities and market development may remain relevant for many years and form part of PotatoPro's historical industry record.
Where appropriate, information originally arising from individual interactions may therefore contribute to company-level, regional, market-level or industry information without requiring the individual's identity to remain attached indefinitely.
PotatoPro continues to develop its retention and de-identification practices with the objective of preserving useful business and historical knowledge while limiting unnecessary long-term association with identifiable individuals.
Communication Preferences
PotatoPro may retain information concerning subscriptions, consent, opt-outs and communication preferences for as long as necessary to manage those preferences.
A limited record may need to be retained after an unsubscribe or withdrawal of consent so that PotatoPro can continue to respect that choice.
Deletion and De-identification
Users may request deletion of Personal Data in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
A deletion request does not necessarily require deletion of every record associated with a person.
PotatoPro may retain information where a continuing legal, security, contractual, business-record or other permitted reason exists.
Where appropriate, PotatoPro may remove identifying associations or de-identify information while retaining underlying aggregated, statistical, company-level or historical information.
Deletion of Personal Data does not normally require deletion of genuinely de-identified industry insights or factual historical information about a company or organization.
Security of Personal Data
PotatoPro uses technical, organizational and operational measures designed to protect Personal Data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.
No system can guarantee absolute security. PotatoPro aims to reduce privacy and security risks through both system design and operational safeguards.
Centralized Identity and Data Minimization
Where appropriate, PotatoPro centralizes privacy-sensitive identity information rather than duplicating directly identifying information across multiple systems.
PotatoPro increasingly uses unique internal identifiers so systems can process activity, preferences, signals and other information without requiring direct access to a user's name, email address or telephone number.
Where practical, identity information, activity data, analytics, business signals and other categories of information are separated so that systems receive only the information appropriate for their function.
Access Controls
Access to privacy-sensitive information is limited to personnel, systems and service providers requiring access for an appropriate business or technical purpose.
PotatoPro uses authentication, authorization and other controls intended to prevent unauthorized access.
Security Monitoring and Abuse Prevention
PotatoPro may process technical and usage information to detect and prevent:
- fraud;
- unauthorized access;
- malicious activity;
- abuse;
- excessive use; and
- security incidents.
This may include IP addresses, authentication activity, device or browser information, access logs and similar technical signals.
Security Incidents
If PotatoPro becomes aware of a security incident involving Personal Data, we will investigate and respond as appropriate.
Where applicable law requires notification to affected individuals, regulators or other authorities, PotatoPro will provide such notification.
Data Storage and International Processing
Europe as Our Preferred Data Location
PotatoPro's preferred home for privacy-sensitive information is Europe.
We regard European privacy and data-protection principles as an important reference point as we continue to develop PotatoPro's systems and privacy practices.
Our aim is to progressively incorporate principles such as data minimization, transparency, appropriate retention, user control and privacy by design throughout the PotatoPro platform.
Our core server infrastructure is located in Europe, and where practical we prefer infrastructure, service providers and configurations that allow privacy-sensitive information to be stored and processed in Europe.
This is an operational preference and direction rather than a guarantee that all PotatoPro information will always be processed in Europe or that the same legal requirements apply in every jurisdiction.
Distributed and Global Infrastructure
PotatoPro serves a worldwide audience and uses some services operating through distributed or international infrastructure.
For example, content delivery networks may process requests through locations close to users in different countries to improve performance, reliability and security.
Other service providers may process or store certain information in other jurisdictions depending on the service and configuration.
The use of globally distributed infrastructure does not mean that all PotatoPro Personal Data or identity information is transferred to every location through which a service operates.
Where Personal Data is transferred or processed internationally, PotatoPro takes reasonable measures to ensure that it remains appropriately protected and applies legally required transfer safeguards where applicable.
Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on where You are located and the privacy laws that apply, You may have rights relating to Personal Data held by PotatoPro.
Access
You may ask whether PotatoPro holds Personal Data about You and request access to applicable information.
Where appropriate, PotatoPro may provide Personal Data in a summarized or structured form that makes the information understandable rather than providing copies of every underlying technical log, database record or document, except where additional detail is required by applicable law.
Personal Data available in response to an applicable access request may include inferred professional interests, personalization attributes or advertising audience assignments where PotatoPro maintains such information in association with an identifiable user.
PotatoPro may need to verify Your identity before fulfilling an access request.
Correction
You may ask PotatoPro to correct Personal Data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
If You believe professional information relating to You or Your organization is inaccurate, You may ask PotatoPro to review it.
Where historical information was accurate at the time but circumstances have subsequently changed, PotatoPro may preserve the historical record while updating current information.
Deletion
You may request deletion of Personal Data where applicable law provides that right.
A deletion request does not necessarily require deletion of factual company information, genuinely de-identified statistics, historical industry information or other information that can legitimately be retained without continued association with the individual.
