Improved potato seeds distributed to farmers in Dubarwa, Eritrea, are delivering strong yields and showing resistance to pests and diseases. A total of 160 quintals of seed potatoes were planted across five hectares.

Potato is one of the most important and widely grown vegetable crops in Eritrea for its nutritional benefit and a source of income for farmers.

Potato Research in Eritrea has come up with a suitable disease resistant variety. The farmers selected to test the new variety, called for distribution to all farmers.
