Swiss technology group Bühler unveils its new food innovation hub in Uzwil, Switzerland, bringing together a diverse range of capabilities into a single location and setting a new stage for product and process development.

The new Customer Operations Center and its RemoteCare offering provides around the clock support for the company’s food producing customers, minimizing the effects of unplanned shutdowns and improving uptime.

The innovative plant will consume 84% less water, 52% less energy compared to a traditional nixtamalization process, and will produce 96% less waste, among other benefits.

Innovations in new products, services, and applications resulted in even stronger market positions of the global technology company Bühler. The company grew order intake by 16%, to more than CHF 3 billion (about USD 3,26 million).

Since investing in Bühler’s ‘three-machines-in-one-solution’, the SORTEX F optical sorter, leading exporter of nuts and dried fruits in Chile, Pacific Nuts, has reduced its input shell contamination from 5% to 0.4%.
