P.E.I. potato growers look to new varieties to help with climate change
Researchers are working on new varieties of potatoes that they hope will help growers on P.E.I. cope with the effects of climate change. Some of the newest varieties were at the Agriculture Canada research station in Harrington, P.E.I.

Lethbridge College, Potato Growers Partner on Irrigation Study
A new study will dig deep into the soil to determine how watering and irrigation methods affect southern Alberta’s potato crops. The research project is a partnership. It is made possible through a grant from the Canadian Agricultural Partnership.

In mid-July, a new variety of potato named Alliston was officially registered with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, making it the first tater in history to take its name from the potato capital of Ontario.
