Calbee America Inc., created in 1970, is the North American subsidiary of Calbee, a Japanese snack food manufacturer that began in 1949. The company specializes on making natural snacks with high-quality ingredients.
Calbee America's product line includes brands such Harvest Snaps, Shrimp Chips, Jagarico, and Jagabee. The company has a production plant in Madera, California that is certified organic, gluten-free, non-GMO, whole grain, and peanut-free.
In addition to its own brands, Calbee America participates in co-manufacturing and private label collaborations, providing product development and production services for extruded snacks, tortilla chips, gluten-free crackers, kettle chips, potato chips, and crispy onions.
The company, formerly known as RDO-Calbee, is a Joint Venture between Calbee Inc. and RD Offutt Company, the largest potato grower in North America.RDO-Calbee was established in 2006 and changed its name to Calbee North America in June 2012.
