Haitai-Calbee Co., Ltd., founded in 2011, is a joint venture between Japan's Calbee, Inc. and South Korea's Haitai Confectionery and Foods Co., Ltd. The company focuses in making potato chips and other snacks for the South Korean market. Haitai-Calbee introduced Honey Butter Chips in 2014, and they quickly became famous, sparking the "Honey-Butter Craze" in South Korea.

To satisfy increased demand, the company announced plans in 2015 to develop a new snack plant in South Korea, with the objective of doubling its local production capacity.
