Orville Redenbacher expands new Flavour Shakers popcorn line in Canada

Canadians' top snacking preference is foods that are crispy and crunchy (68%), followed closely by snacks that come in a variety of flavours (66%) and that are hot and fresh (57%), according to a recent poll by Angus Reid Strategies commissioned on behalf of Orville Redenbacher's. Canada's most popular popcorn brand aims to give snackers more of what they crave with the launch of a new flavour in its line of Orville Redenbacher's Flavour Shakers.

Orville Redenbacher's is adding a new flavour, allowing popcorn lovers to customize their popcorn and prove that there plenty of ways to enjoy popcorn other than just with butter. Orville Redenbacher's Flavour Shakers are now available in Salt &Vinegar, joining White Cheddar and Sour Cream &Onion as flavour staples.

"For a long time, the only choice people had for flavoured popcorn was butter or no butter,"saidRob Tallis, director of Marketing for Orville Redenbacher's at ConAgra FoodsCanada. "Canadians' tastes have evolved and Orville Redenbacher's has been responding by offering a variety of flavours, most recently with the addition of Salt &Vinegar to the Orville Redenbacher's Flavour Shakers line."

Orville Redenbacher's Flavour Shakers has a suggested retail price of$3.99-$4.99for a five-pack box. Orville Redenbacher's Flavour Shakers popcorn began appearing at most major grocery retailersJan. 14.

Orville Redenbacher's Flavour Shakers in Salt &Vinegar is the newest addition to the brand inCanada, joining earlier product innovations like Orville Redenbacher's Flavoured Mini Bags and Ready to Eat popcorn. Orville Redenbacher's popcorn is made with 100 percent whole grain popping corn and is a source of fibre. Canada's Food Guide advises Canadians to make at least half of their grain products whole grain each day.

Angus Reid Strategies conducted an online survey among 1,005 randomly selected Canadian adults who are Angus Reid Forum panelists. The margin of errors +/- 3.1%.
