Elea Technology Introduces PEF Advantage C 2000-600 System for High-Capacity Industrial Crop Processing

Elea Technology GmbH has introduced the newest addition to its PEF Advantage system portfolio, the Elea PEF Advantage C 2000-600. Designed around a 600 × 600 mm treatment channel, the system is built for industrial-scale processing of large-caliber crops such as sugar beet, sugar cane, potatoes, sweet potatoes, pumpkins and squash.
The new system is designed to support high-capacity food processing operations while delivering consistent pulsed electric field (PEF) treatment across demanding industrial applications.
High-throughput PEF system for large-scale processing
The PEF Advantage C 2000-600 enables robust and consistent treatment performance for a range of industrial processes. Applications include enhanced extraction efficiency in sugar beet and sugar cane processing as well as uniform treatment of potatoes and sweet potatoes. The system is also suitable for bulky and irregular products such as pumpkins and squash.

Elea PEF system installed in an industrial processing facility
With its 600 × 600 mm treatment cross-section, the system represents one of the largest PEF treatment geometries currently used in industrial food processing. It enables continuous processing capacities of up to 150 t/h depending on product characteristics and production line configuration. Higher capacities can be achieved through the integration of additional power modules.
Flexible installation and industrial reliability
The hygienic stainless-steel design supports both indoor and outdoor installation. The system can be installed using either a coated steel generator cabinet or a standardized containerized configuration.
A chain-based transport concept ensures defined residence times and uniform PEF exposure for large and irregular products conveyed in a controlled product-water mixture. This enables stable and continuous operation in industrial processing environments.
An optimized vessel and flume design reduces process water volume and overall water consumption. The open, dead-space-free architecture allows fast and thorough cleaning, helping minimize downtime during operation.
A robust cooling concept combining water cooling, internal air cooling and closed-circuit options ensures reliable performance under a wide range of environmental conditions. Integrated water management with flexible infeed, outfeed and recirculation configurations allows the system to be integrated into existing processing lines.
Heavy-duty bearings, sediment removal systems and service-friendly access points are designed to support reliability, uptime and long-term operational efficiency.
At the core of the system is a 60 kV matrix pulse generator supplied in a standardized containerized design with scalable output power options. The generator is designed for high operational safety and includes a modular architecture for easier servicing.
A PLC-based control platform provides full transparency of electrical and process parameters and supports advanced monitoring and optimization of processing conditions, with optional SCADA connectivity and remote support capabilities.
