HZPC completes acquisition of IPM Potato Group

Royal HZPC Group has finalized the acquisition of IPM Potato Group, following the initial announcement made in October 2025. With all required conditions now fulfilled, IPM officially becomes part of Royal HZPC Group.

The transaction marks a key step in Royal HZPC Group long-term strategy to strengthen its position in the global seed potato sector. The company welcomed the IPM team and confirmed its intention to build on the complementary strengths of both organizations.
 

Market leader in Ireland and the United Kingdom

Founded in 1950, IPM Potato Group has developed into Ireland market leader in seed potato breeding, production, and export. The company is also the largest exporter of protected and exclusive varieties in the United Kingdom.

Through its grower network in Ireland, Scotland, France, the Netherlands, and England, IPM supplies seed potatoes to approximately 40 countries, with a strong focus on Mediterranean markets.

In research and development, IPM has collaborated for more than 50 years with Teagasc, Ireland national institute for research, advisory, and education in the agri-food sector. This partnership has supported the development of resilient, high-quality potato varieties.

Identity remains intact

IPM Potato Group will continue operating under its existing name and identity. Royal HZPC Group confirmed its confidence in IPM management team and strategic direction.

Both organizations will work together to identify opportunities for collaboration, while maintaining IPM established market position and relationships with growers and customers.

The acquisition reinforces Royal HZPC Group broader objective of contributing to a resilient and responsible global food system through innovation in potato breeding and seed supply.
