FPS carton freezing solutions include two options, Carton Continuous Flow (CF) freezers and Variable Retention MultiPass (VRM) freezers, to fulfill a range of cooling, chilling, and freezing requirements with single and variable retention times.
Utilizing MultiPass Air Flow Technology, our carton freezers provide true counter-flow heat transfer. This ensures each carton exits at the same temperature irrespective of its shelf position. The resulting freezing consistency and energy efficiency translate to energy savings, carbon footprint reductions, and consistently optimal product quality.

Carton Continuous Flow (CF) Freezers
The CF freezers can deliver up to 480,000 lb (220,000 kg) of production per day when applying a 24-hour retention. For cooling, chilling, and/or freezing products in trayed or boxed packages with a single retention time, this type of freezer maximizes uptime while lowering operational and maintenance costs.
The “bookcase” style carriers and shelves of our CF freezers are tailored to each application. Transfer points are specially designed for seamless transition from the structure to the elevators. This avoids harmful shock loading and eliminates movement of products on the carrier shelves.
Servo driven elevators within the freezer enable exact indexing of the carriers to smoothly transfer products on and off shelves.
Variable Retention Multipass (VRM) Freezers
The VRM freezers utilize single and double-shelf designs for a high degree of flexibility to suit needs and plant configurations. This type of carton freezer is optimized to cool, chill, and/or freeze different products with single or multiple retention times.
Primary and transfer elevators at each end of the carton freezer seamlessly transport products, gently loading them onto “platform” style shelves and moving them through the system to the outfeed, completing the rotation.
In VRM freezers, various products requiring single or multiple retention times are channeled through lanes and pushed onto corresponding shelf levels based on their desired retention times.
The VRM freezers’ carrier shelves are wider and able to accommodate more products than our CF freezers, allowing production capacities of up to 1,300,000 lb (590,000 kg) per day when applying a 24-hour retention.
