Op basis van de verzamelaanvragen 2010ingediend bij het Agentschap voor Landbouw en Visserij blijkt dat het areaal consumptieaardappelen in Vlaanderen dit jaar zou uitkomen op 42.079 ha, of6,66% meer dan in 2009.
De areaalstijging bevestigt de resultaten van de PCA-enquête gehouden begin april bij 125 leden. Begin april bleek uit deze enquête dat het areaal bewaaraardappelen zou toenemen met 7%.
Officiële Belgische areaalcijfers voor 2010 zijn momenteel nog niet beschikbaar. Het NIS (Nationaal Instituut voor de Statistiek) laat weten dat de voorlopige arealen zouden beschikbaar zijn eind juli, ter gelegenheid van de landbouwbeurs in Libramont.
