Tal van Duitse boeren hebben afgelopen maanden hun aandelen voor het telen van aardappelen voor AVEBE overgedragen aan Nederlandse collega’s.
Het gevolg hiervan is dat in Nederland dit jaar 2000 hectare meer voor AVEBE is uitgepoot dan in 2010.
Het areaal voor AVEBE in het Duitse Weser-Emsgebied daalde met 2000 hectare.
Het totale areaal dat voor AVEBE dit jaar met zetmeelaardappelen is gepoot, bedraagt 48.000 hectare. Daarmee is de teruggang in het areaal voor AVEBE van de afgelopen jaren gestopt.
De Duitse agrariers die hun rechten overdroegen, zijn vaak kleine telers. Zij stappen over op andere gewassen om te profiteren van subsidies van de Duitse overheid op mais en bio-energie. Seresta (32 %) is in Nederland voor AVEBE het meest gepote aardappelras voor de zetmeelproductie, gevolgd door Festien (17%), Aveka (16%) en Avarna (13%). In Duitsland staat Seresta na Festien op de tweede plaats.
