Tong Peal, the UK’s leading designer and manufacturer of handling and sorting equipment for the vegetable handling industry, has introduced a new and innovative screen grading module which has been specifically designed to bring together the key handling principles of its trademark EasyGrade screen sizer and popular stone and clod separator.
Tong Peal’s new Stone &Clod EasyGrade innovatively combines agitated screen grading with a steel bounce roller mounted inside, to effectively grade crop and subsequently separate stone and clod from the undersized crop, reducing unnecessary wastage of smaller crop in one simple process.
By combining the grading and separating processes, the new Stone &Clod EasyGrade offers significant space savings compared to using separate grading and separating equipment, offering a compact and efficientsolution allowing smaller crop to be easily resold or replanted.
Variable speed motors are also a feature of the new machine, allowing speed to be controlled according to required throughput and weather conditions. As standard, the machine is fully mobile and can be easily integrated into a new or existing grading line. The new Stone &Clod EasyGrade can also be manufactured as part of Tong Peal’s market leading grading machine – The Caretaker. Available in sizes ranging from 1200 to 2400 in width, the unit can handle all crop sizes and is capable of throughputs up to 50 tonnes/hour.
“The new Stone &Clod EasyGrade has been designed to accommodate the growing popularity of our standard stone and clod separator as part of the grading process” said Charlie Rich, export manager at Tong Peal Engineering. “Many customers have space restrictions which we need to consider when designing their grading facilities and integrating the separator as part of our trademark grading screen allows for both processes to be carried out in less space and with significant cost savings. Our standard stone and clod separator is often used alongside our mobile grader the Caretaker, so integrating the separator with the grading module on this machine allows the separating process to be mobile too.”
“We are dedicated to listening to our customers and have taken feedback on board to help develop new and innovative grading and handling equipment in our latest range. Since its launch at PotatoEurope in Belgium, we have already seen a great deal of interest in the Stone &Clod EasyGrade, particularly amongst our export markets”
