Agrico signed a contract with the company Albert Bartlett for the introduction of the successful potato variety Gourmandine in the UK. This took place in Berlin, during the second day of the Fruit Logistica trade show.

Gourmandine, which is particularly successful as a table potato and salad speciality, has for many years been doing extremely well in several European countries. In France the variety was recently even proclaimed the tastiest potato for the third time in the annual “Flavour of the Year” contest.

The variety’s great success is the reason why Albert Bartlett is now going to introduce Gourmandine in British supermarkets too. This company has already successfully marketed several varieties in Britain.

To celebrate Gourmandine’s success and the signing of the contract, Agrico held a festive reception during the Fruit Logistica in Berlin. Agrico and its subsidiaries are represented at this popular international fair to show the company’s diversity in the fields of table and seed potatoes under the heading of “Say choice”.

The Fruit Logistica was working well for Agrico, according to a comment by Agrico director Jan van Hoogen: “The Fruit Logistica is an important fair for us, offering us, as a large potato cooperative, an ideal opportunity to come into contact with many international trade partners. This is only the second day of the fair so far, but we have already received a lot of visitors at our stand. And this is of course the ideal time for us to celebrate our Gourmandine contract with Albert Bartlett. We are very proud of this contract and have great faith in our cooperation in Britain.”
