Europatat has announced that the next Europatat Congress will take place in Brussels on 23 and 24 May 2024. The annual Europatat event has become a key platform to assess the state of play of the potato sector and to communicate the priorities and challenges facing the potato business in Europe and beyond. Mark your calendars and do not miss it!

In order to create a meeting for all potato professionals on the edge of a new potato season, Europatat organises its annual congress every other year in Brussels, the heart of the European Union.

Under the theme “European Potato Trade in 2030: a sector in transition”, this year’s event will focus on the main environmental, economic and social challenges for the potato sector and traders for the coming years, but also on the solutions and opportunities that new tools and techniques can deliver.

On Thursday 23 May, Europatat members will review the different activities of the association during the meetings of its five Commissions (consumption potatoes, seed potatoes, sustainability, technical and regulatory issues, and RUCIP). On the next day, Friday 24 of May, the Europatat General Assembly will take place in the morning, followed by a conference which will be open to the public.

On the eve of the European elections, the Europatat Congress will offer participants the possibility to discuss with European legislators and politicians, and other sectorial colleagues about how the sector should transition to the new decade.

Besides the professional working program, the Congress will also offer different social events such a welcome cocktail on Wednesday 22 May, the traditional Europatat’s Gala Dinner on Thursday 23 May or farewell drinks on Friday 24 to reinforce the networking and contact among the European potato community and other stakeholders.
